Responsibilities

  • Build custom Linux system configurations. 
  • Configure automation tools to provide repeatable system deployment. 
  • Deploy and support custom software solutions. 
  • Write and peer review automated scripts. 
  • Debug solutions in deployed operating environments. 
  • Leverage automated deployment and provisioning tools. 
  • Solve complex new problems and be the one to automate and document the solution. 
  • Full stack automation, including networks, systems, services, monitoring, backups. 
  • Demonstrate understanding of system engineering processes and information security’s role in those processes. 
  • Improve system infrastructure and evolve existing solutions. 
  • Learn and attend training on new, unfamiliar technologies. 
  • Generate documentation for the full software stack.   
  • Perform and validate software updates.   
  • Execute test codes for characterization of software performance.   
  • Provide software product ownership for common third-party tools.   

Qualifications

  • Proficient in networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.) and technologies (Cisco, Juniper, etc.). 
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies. 
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and tooling. 
  • Proficient in YAML and Jinja for writing Salt states. 
  • Deep knowledge of Linux networking concepts and tools. 
  • Basic Linux system administration skills and shell scripting.   
  • Experience with automated configuration management tools such as SaltStack, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.  
  • IT Infrastructures, CI/CD, Automation, and/or systems engineering experience.   
  • Experience with scaling, production with emphasis on Reliability, Efficiency, and Scalability.   
  • Success in leveraging traditional best practices, such as ITSM, as well as emerging methods, that are optimized for agility. 
  • Basic Linux system administration skills and shell scripting.   
  • Working knowledge of CM tools such as Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence.  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and switch between various architectural paradigms.   
  • Experience with creating and automating installation/configuration procedures  

 

Education 

  • Relevant college degree plus four years of experience, or eight years of relevant experience.
